Dena and Andrew Waters dispersed their Holstein and Guernsey herds at Beeston Market, Tarporley Cheshire on the 4th October 2010 and the Guernseys found a much better trade given the age profile of the different breeds. 18 of the 44 Holsteins made more than 1000 gns with a top price of 1420 gns for Lot 34.
The first 13 of the 38 calved Guernseys had had more than 5 calves and they got the sale off to a slow start with most of them bought by Andrew Hope who is just half a mile from the Market and who is increasing his Guernsey numbers as his processing unit on the farm comes on stream.
