The Warren family of Tredinney Farm, St Buryan,Cornwall and UK Sire Services of Dartington Devon have successfully exported semen from Cara’s Conqueror of Les Jaonetts to the USA.
The importers are Golden State Breeders of California owned by Mr Frank Faria.
Conqueror was imported from Guernsey Island in January 2011 and was bred by Bon and Margaret Martel, after passing the necessary health tests he went straight onto the AI collection center at Dartington.
Conquerors dam Les Jaonetts Keegans Cara is probably the best cow on Guernsey Island and is also the dam of Les Jaonetts Cara’s Amir whose calves in England and Wales are so promising. Cara is currently EX93 , but when I saw her in December 2010 was looking fabulous and could well be the first Ex 96 cow in the UK.
The Warren family are to be congratulated for taking the financial risk as otherwise this export would not have happened as the Guernsey AI centre does not meet export standards.
