Nantwich Cheese Show 2011

Guernsey milk products were amongst the prize winners at this years Nantwich International Cheese show which with over 3700 entries from across the world claims to be the biggest.

Winning a Gold Medal for their Plain Yoghurt were Tiresford Guernsey Gold and this will give great pleasure to Andrew, Sue and John Hope who have recently made an investment in the equipment needed to do the processing at Tiresford Farm, Tarporley in Cheshire rather than relying on a third party processor.

Winning a Gold Medal for their Smoked Cheddar were Guernsey Dairy from Guernsey Island, but as I am on Guernsey at present it was disappointing to be served Jersey Island butter with breakfast!

Winning a Silver and a Bronze with her cheeses from  millk from Guernsey Dairy was Fenella Madison from Torteval Cheese and taking the Silver for a  soft Blue cheese was Sandy Rose of Two Hoots Cheese from Reading who has been in touch recently as she cannot get consistent supplies of Guernsey Milk and is considering a move to Taunton where there is a more easily available milk supply.
