Six exhibitors with 15 Cows and Heifers as well as 12 calves made a high quality turnout for the Cornwall show and Philip Cox to sort out.
Class 1 7 calves saw a first win for a young man Ian Rowe, who has been buying a Guernsey calf to show for each of the last 6 years and has finally produced a home bred heifer calf Rowan Chandelier by Hercules that traces via Trengwainton to the Design family at White Ladies. In second place was a Yogibear from Tredinney but my eye was caught by a pair of Amir calves from Trewarnevas.
Class 2 The second class of the day was won by another Hercules, this time from Trewarnevas and the Laurinda family this was Trewarnevas Hercules Laurinda with Norman & Mill’s Cadbury Hawk Poppy 73rd in second place and a Fayette Day from Trewarnevas in third place.
Class 3 Five in calf heifers saw a win for Tredinney with T Lamars Louisa 3 having the advantage over Cadbury Hawks Onyx 2nd with Trewarnevas Day 6th in third place.
Class 4 Two dry cows found the 2008 SW Dairy Show Champion back in the ring and Mayne Aaron Sylvia from Norman & Mills was placed over last years Stithians Champion Clay Hill Glenda in second place.
Class 5 Three heifers in milk saw David Christophers gain a win with Tredinney Buzzards Bracken 4, with Tredinney Andantes Eclipse 11th in second and Tredinney Silverados Primrose 21st in third.
Class 6 Three young cows saw Tredinney Pedros Flo 4th in first place with Tredinney Yogis Primrose 16th second and Bickfield Lilian 14th from the Grose’s third.
Class 7 Two senior cows saw Laity Farm Primrose 97 now in her seventh lactation given the advantage despite favouring a hind leg over St Senara Annie from the Grose’s.
Norman & Mills were placed first in the Group of Three.
Tredinney Pedros Flo 4th was awarded the Championship with Mayne Aaron Sylvia in Reserve and with the calf Rowan Chandelier as Hon.Mention.
