The idea for this series came from Mike Cox on Alderney, who asked me when visiting Guernsey herds to take pictures of the “oldest” cow in each herd, he coupled that request with the comment “she won’t be the biggest cow in the herd”

At Beechgroves last week Gideon Lacey pointed out Beechgroves Pauline 92 GDM and I have only just looked her up in CDI, what a cow she is dry and due shortly with her 15th calf, having calved each and every year since 1995 and has had 8 daughters 3 of which have been classified as VG.
