This years show saw 14 Guernseys forward from 7 exhibitors and also 4 new competitors in the FGB classes. The 14 animals were however to be found in only two classes with a strong class of 8 Maiden heifers giving David Mann his first challenge.

He placed Wiltown Mayflower from  Brian and Sheila Adams in first place, with Wiltown Margaret in second place and Rosemary Charman’s Sandy Hole Pumpkin in third place.

The next class was for the 6 In calf heifers and Rosemary Charman had the winner here with Sandy Hole Field Fare , with John Marks in second place with Sandy Hole Hornbeam and Jon White in third place with Kingwell Atlantic Portago.

David then awarded his Championship to Field Fare with Mayflower as Reserve Champion.

Okehampton Show have two classes for Junior Handlers and this was the result of hard work and lobbying by the late June Rocket and it was good to see that both classes were competitive with four juniors three competing for the first time and it was good to see the pleasure to be had by the competitors and also assorted parents and grand parents on the ringside. 

The winner of the Under 12 section was Abi Marshall ( coached by Les Rockett) with Sandy Hole Penelope, whilst in second place was William with Margaret and in third place was 5 year old Oliver Carpenter with Mayflower and in fourth place a very last minute entrant was Issy Phillips with Caramel.

The seniors had four competing and in first place was Ian Rowe, with Charlotte Genduso in second place and Kelly Marks in third place and George in fourth.

David then had his two first prise winners compete and gave the Championship to a delighted Abi Marshall.
